ICIA 10 Commitments

The ICIA EMF subgroup would like to further support the Government’s recent work in examining the issue of electromagnetic fields and health. As part of this effort, the group has developed ‘10 Commitments’, which have been agreed by all the operators in Ireland. Their purpose is to ensure transparency in building mobile phone networks, to provide more information to the public and local planners and to boost the community's role in the siting of radio base stations. They will act as a voluntary code showing the best practice that the Irish operators wish to adopt. This approach is in line with other European initiatives, and has proven successful. We hope that these 10 Commitments will support the ongoing work of the Department and will prove to be the foundation for future collaboration to effectively address public concerns regarding mobile telephony and network rollout.
