Irish Medical Devices Association

With over 140 companies exporting €6.8bn (in 2009) worth of product annually and employing 24,000 people, the medical technology industry represents an important and growing sector of the Irish economy. The Irish Medical Devices Association (IMDA) is the association within IBEC representing the medical device and diagnostics industry. Our members' concerns range from upskilling factory workers to growing their market share of the global economy, from local energy costs to compliance with international regulations and the IMDA is with them every step of the way. By forging close working relationships with ministers, government agencies, policy makers, commissioners and other relevant governing bodies the IMDA helps members navigate the challenges facing both multinational and indigenous medical device and diagnostic companies. Our dedicated executive staff works tirelessly to keep our members informed and to ensure their voices are heard. With an eye to the future, the IMDA also strives to promote the life sciences within the Irish education system, from primary school up through third level institutions. On behalf of our members, we work to bring together clinicians, industry leaders, academia and regulators to foster an environment of growth, innovation and convergence in developing the medical devices and diagnostic products of tomorrow. Please visit the [IMDA website for more information on our strategy through to 2011 and the many services, events and training programmes we offer to support our members.
